Rest without guilt, even when everyone needs you

Faith-based books, devotionals, and honest conversations about burnout and boundaries for the strong Black Christian woman who carries everyone at work, at home, and at church. Keep caring for them. Stop doing what God didn't ask.

I Know Exactly Where You Are Right Now

You are the one everyone calls. At work, at home, and at church.

At work, you are the one who fixes it. At home, you are the one who remembers everything. At church, you are the one who never says no. Somebody always needs something, and you are the one who handles it.

People call you strong. You smile, even when you resent always having to be. You would rather do it yourself than hear the sigh or feel like you owe someone.

Late at night, after everyone is asleep, you sit down and wonder when it will be your turn. Nobody has asked you how you are in a long time.

You were never meant to carry it all. Start with five minutes.

I Was the Strong One Too.

For nearly two decades I worked in corporate leadership, rising to executive at a Fortune 500 company. I was the one everyone called at work, at home, and at church. I said yes when I wanted to say no, and I called it love.

Then a divine layoff brought me home to care for my daughter, who has complex needs. In that season of stillness, God showed me how much I had been carrying that He never asked me to carry.

Today I am an author, podcaster, speaker, and certified life coach. I help women rest without guilt, set boundaries that honor God, and live the purpose He has for them.

I am not finished either. I am still becoming, and you are welcome to walk this road with me.

FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH NONVERBAL AUTISM

From Lo-debar to the King's Table

There is a place in the Bible called Lo-debar. In Hebrew it means no word. It was where the forgotten went to be out of sight. That is where the world sends our nonverbal children.

The King sent for Mephibosheth anyway and sat him at the royal table while he was still lame. The seat came before the healing. Your child does not have to talk to belong at the table.

Your child is in there. Your child is His.
